These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of chessvisual.com (the “Service”), operated by ChessVisual from Chandigarh, India. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. The Service

ChessVisual provides interactive chess training puzzles and related tools for visualisation and calculation practice. We may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time.

3. Accounts

You sign in using Google. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping access to your Google account secure. You agree to provide accurate information and to use the Service only for lawful purposes.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access, copy, or harvest the Service or its puzzle data.
• Attempt to bypass security, Firebase App Check, or rate limits.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, resell, or redistribute the Service or its content.
• Disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure.
• Use the Service for any unlawful or abusive purpose.

5. Memberships & Payments

Some features require a paid membership. Prices are shown on the Membership page and are payable through Razorpay. By purchasing, you authorise us, via Razorpay, to charge the applicable amount. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service — including its design, software, curated puzzle sets, annotations, and content — is owned by ChessVisual and protected by applicable laws. Underlying chess game data may derive from publicly available sources. You receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Service for your own training; you may not copy, redistribute, or commercially exploit it.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee any specific improvement in your chess ability, nor that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChessVisual shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Chandigarh, India.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version.
